Name: President Omar al-Bashir
Alleged crime: Omar Hassan Ahmad al-Bashir is the first sitting head of state to be indicted by the International Criminal Court (ICC) for war crimes, crimes against humanity and genocide. Al Bashir is accused of masterminding and implementing a plan to attack civilians in the Fur, Masalit and Zaghawa groups during the conflict in Darfur, Sudan. Omar Hassan Al-Bashir was born on 1 January 1944 in Hosh Bannaga in Sudan, 100 km northeast of Khartoum.
