This is a shadow report by the Women's League of Burma on the Convention for the Elimination of Discrimination Against Women, in response to the Burmese regime's report. Title: School for Rape: The Burmese Military and Sexual Violence in the ongoing war in Shan State

This report seeks to make visible the structural origins of the rape of ethnic Burmese women, with particular attention to the institution that nurtures the rapists, the Burmese army. This report looks for the root cause of rape, so as to advocate for institutional change, establish individual culpability and argue for individual punishment.
